Cabinet Finishes, Compared By Someone Who Installs Them

Every finish looks perfect in a showroom. The honest comparison is about year three: which doors still look new, which show every fingertip, and which forgave the day someone unloaded the dishwasher angry. Here's the WOODca range, straight.

Pairings that keep working

  • Supramat lowers + woodgrain uppers — the current GTA favourite: practical where hands go, warm at eye level.
  • High Gloss everything, pale tones — the small-condo brightener.
  • One finish, two colours — island dark, perimeter light; costs nothing extra within the same family.

Decide with your eyes, in your light

Showroom lighting flatters everything. We bring physical door samples to the free measurement so you judge finishes under your own window and your own bulbs — the only test that predicts year three. The same materials logic applies to closet fronts and media wall cabinetry, so one choice can run through the whole home. Full service details: custom kitchens from $6,500.

FAQ

Finish questions

Which cabinet finish hides fingerprints best?

Supramat, and it isn't close — the anti-fingerprint surface is engineered for exactly this. If your kitchen sees kids, guests and daily cooking, Supramat keeps the doors looking freshly wiped between actual wipes.

Is high gloss hard to keep clean?

It shows marks faster than matte but cleans instantly with a soft cloth. The trade is worth it in small or dark kitchens: gloss bounces light around like nothing else. Avoid it only if daily buffing would annoy you.

Are these finishes durable enough for a rental or busy family home?

Vision melamine carcasses and WOODca fronts are commercial-grade materials — scratch- and moisture-resistant in everyday use. For the hardest-lived kitchens we'd steer to Supramat or textured woodgrain fronts, which hide wear best; your free measurement is where we match finish to household honestly.
